Come and enjoy nature for a few days & learn how to capture it in your own way.
This can range from large (landscape) to very small (flower details).
And from quite precise to (semi) abstract; you can choose which style appeals to you most.

We will work with all kinds of exercises to learn to paint more loosely. You can play with different styles to gain more and more clarity about your unique style. In the morning we will sketch outside as much as possible with paint and take photographs to collect information that inspires us to create new work. In the afternoon we will work with that information on a larger format.

You will learn how to use the landscape as a source of inspiration,
but also how to apply details from nature in interesting ways. And several beautiful animal portraits have been made in recent years too, so you can also work with your own theme. The groups are small, so you will get a lot of personal tuition.

We discuss your work at the end of the day and on the last day we make an exhibition of everything that has been made. During the debriefing it is always very surprising to see how much is achieved by everyone in just a few days.
The participants always experience these discussions as very inspiring and educational.

There are numerous possibilities for excursions around the farm, such as Ruurlo Castle with the English landscape gardens or the Lebbenbrugge Museum in a beautiful rural setting. There are so many great options in the area that we choose on the spot what suits our schedule best.

The workshops are also suitable for you if you have not been painting for a very long time.
I give a lot of tips about materials, mixing colors, lay-out and perspective. And there are also all kinds of fun assignments to challenge more experienced painters to new work. In the reviews about my Art Retreats, the difference in experience in the groups is always experienced as very inspiring.

It's super cool at these types of events that creative people connect with each other so quickly. So if you're a little nervous about traveling alone, don't worry: before you know it you'll have made new friends. The informal atmosphere on the farm certainly helps with that. And it is of course wonderful that after a few days you come home completely recharged with all kinds of new ideas.

TO STAY

You can book a room at a hotel in Haaksbergen, Ruurlo or Lochem. 
These towns are all a 10 - 15 minute drive from the farmhouse.
There are also several nice campsites and B&Bs nearby.

To make this trip also feasible for people with a smaller budget, we offer the option
to pitch a tent or caravan/camper next to the farmhouse (€30 p.p. per night, incl. breakfast).
You can have breakfast in the house and you can also shower and use the bathroom inside.
This is possible for a maximum of 3 tents or caravans, so if you are interested, please respond quickly. 

You can also stay in the farmhouse in a simple 3-person dormitory on the 1st floor.
You need to bring your own sheet, pillowcase and duvet cover.
(€40 p.p. per night, incl. breakfast).
This accommodation option is not available from May 16th to 20th.

Restaurants de Olliemolle & Proeflokaal01, both beautifully located next to the water in Borculo.

A maximum of 8 people can participate in the painting workshops.
If the idea appeals to you, you'd better not wait too long to book, last year a number of dates were booked up quickly.

There are various studio spaces available in the farm, so we can easily work at a distance of 1.5 m from each other if necessary.
We highly recommend travellers and cancellation insurance just in case you are unable to participate in the Art Retreat.
